Annachi Cold Pressed Sesame Oil 1l is a sesame-based cooking oil in a 1 litre pack. Sesame oil is also widely known as gingelly oil or til oil and has a distinctive flavour that is especially familiar in South Indian cooking.

A 1 litre pack is a useful household size for cooks who use sesame oil for selected recipes rather than every dish. It can be kept as part of a mixed cooking-oil cupboard and brought out for recipes where its characteristic sesame flavour is traditionally preferred.

This product is part of MyLocalMart's Sesame Oil collection within the wider Oil & Ghee range, where you can also browse groundnut, sunflower, mustard, coconut and other cooking oils.

What Is Cold Pressed Sesame Oil?

Cold pressed sesame oil is oil obtained from sesame seeds using a pressing process rather than relying solely on high-temperature refining. In Indian cooking, sesame oil is valued primarily for its flavour and culinary role. In Tamil cooking it is commonly called nalla ennai, while til oil and gingelly oil are also widely used names. It is particularly associated with pickles, podi accompaniments, rice preparations and selected curries.

Why Choose Annachi Cold Pressed Sesame Oil 1l?

This product is a practical choice if you:

Use sesame oil for South Indian and regional recipes.
Prefer a cold pressed sesame oil format.
Prepare pickles, podi accompaniments or seasoned rice dishes.
Want a 1 litre pack for regular household use.
Keep different cooking oils for recipes with different flavour profiles.

The 1 litre pack is convenient for households that want sesame oil available for both everyday cooking and dishes where its recognisable flavour is part of the traditional result.

Popular Ways to Use Sesame Oil

Sesame oil is commonly used for:

Mixing with idli podi or dosa podi before serving.
Preparing tamarind-based rice dishes and other seasoned rice preparations.
Making or seasoning Indian pickles.
Tempering mustard seeds, curry leaves and spices for selected dishes.
Sautéing vegetables for South Indian side dishes.
Adding to some kuzhambu and curry preparations.
Cooking traditional gravies where sesame oil is part of the expected flavour.
Finishing or mixing selected chutneys and spice pastes when the recipe calls for it.

Sesame oil has a stronger identity than many neutral cooking oils, so it is often chosen deliberately for recipes where its aroma and taste contribute to the finished dish.
